Getting back to work

In the wake of the election celebration, I spent most of my time online reading the news recaps, predictable analyses, insightful commentaries on various appointments and watching videos of crowds spontaneously bursting into the national anthem. [When was the last time you witnessed that?] It was selfish of me, I know, not to share any of this here. The U.S. Politics page at friendfeed kept me particularly busy, trying to keep up with everything as it was happening.

Now that things have calmed down a bit, if not for the President-Elect, at least, for us, I have to say I agree with Jay Smooth.

—necessary tangent—

Jay who, you ask? He's the force behind Ill Doctrine. From the page: "Ill Doctrine is a hip-hop video blog hosted by Jay Smooth, creator of the hip hop music blog and founder of New York's longest running hip-hop radio show, WBAI's Underground Railroad." I know, I know—you're thinking that I'm crushing on another smart net-boy. And what if I am? Frankly, I think he's both brilliant and a breath of fresh air. That's saying something, considering the morass of electronic babble out there.

—end tangent—

Here's where I agree. If you don't happen to be on board with his commentary, you might dig his delivery, or, at the very least, the enigmatic cat cameos.

The delivery made you listen. Good for us to hear - it really is our job to keep tabs on our 'employee' there in the White House. While the moment in November was glorious, we can't sit back on our laurels now. So, yeah, I say nice job on the video. And great cat cameo.
